There are three main elements that you need to take in account, when you decide that you want to live a healthier life. Your body will need to be more active, while your mind will require a little rest. But you won’t be able to enjoy great health if you don’t take a closer look at the food that you consume, as well. Here is how to feel better, by taking care of these three elements, and enjoy it all the while.
Exercising
It is difficult to get off the couch we when are home, back from work. Either we want to relax by watching a TV series on our favourite streaming website, or we settle for the regular plain old TV. But the idea to actually go for a long walk or head to the gym feels more like a nightmare in our mind than something that will do us good. That is why we need to find an activity that we will enjoy, if we want to break this dangerous couch routine that we have built over the years. If what you do at home is to play a lot of video games, then we may have a great idea for you to leave your gaming chair and head out to the countryside for some real exercise. It is called airsoft.
You are probably wondering right now: What is airsoft? It is a war game that takes place in large fields in nature. It recreates a combat situation as close as it can possibly do so, as you run and hide into forests, fields and various constructions on site. You can apply the strategies that you have been using in your shooter games, but this time in “real life,” while shooting unharmful bullets with your M4 airsoft carbine. If you spend one day a week at the airsoft field, you will regain your stamina, in no time.
With airsoft being such a team-based skill game, it can be a great way to get your cardio in whilst having fun. Good sportsmanship is key as well as adaptability to your surroundings. Being able to play with airsoft pistols and work on your marksmanship will encourage you to get in shape, without feeling like a chore as you are focused on strategy and patience of the game itself.
Eating
It is rare that you will find someone who doesn’t like to eat. Since we have to do it three times a day, we can all agree that it is better this way. However, there is a great difference between eating and making sure that you get all the nutrients and calories that you need for a full day and nothing more. One of the biggest issues regarding the food that we eat, is that we don’t control it. Instead of bringing a lunch at work that would qualify as healthy, we find ourselves heading to the closet restaurant, which too often can be considered as fast food. This is not how we can get back to a healthy body.
One of the solutions is to start taking cooking lessons. If we don’t have sufficient time on our hands, we can also do it online. Learning new recipes will help us understand better what is a balanced meal and how to prepare it. Eating intelligently means that you consume all the elements that your body requires, which includes carbs, proteins, fats, fibres, vitamins and minerals. When you start cooking regularly, you will see that it is quite easy to have all of this on your plate, all the time. You also have to drink lots of water, every day. You should always have a bottle near you, so that you can replenish yourself at regular intervals, all day long.
Resting
Living a hectic life can be fun for a while, but if you don’t slow down at some point, it will have its toll on your body and your mind. Getting the necessary sleep at night to recuperate from the daily grind is not something you can constantly push back. Otherwise, your body will start ageing rapidly. The number of hours of sleep that someone needs varies for each person. However, getting seven good hours of sleep will make anyone feel awake and ready to go in the morning.
Resting also means that you need to either stay away from stress or learn how to cope with it. Anxiety is one of the most damaging issues that we all face. There is no way to avoid stress entirely in this life, which is why the best solution is to learn how to manage it within you. Meditation classes will certainly help in that regard. You can also learn new breathing techniques, since the way that we take air in and then release it, is one of the symptoms of stress and anxiety. Therefore, if you learn how to regain control of it, this may just be the solution to most, if not all, of your anxiety issues.
If you manage to change your bad routines, in regards to the three points above, you should have a saner mind in a healthier body, rapidly. But don’t forget that this is something that you will need to apply to every day of your life, if you want to live a long life, in good health.
