    What is orthodontics?

Orthodontics is one of the branches in the dental clinic that corrects teeth and jaws that are positioned improperly. Trust your Invisalign to a Board Certified Orthodontist, not a general practitioner. General dentists take a six-hour weekend course on orthodontics and then begin treating cases. Orthodontists, on the other hand, have 2.5 – 3 years of training after dental school focused on orthodontics…and it’s all they do!

What is the benefit of an orthodontist?

The benefits of orthodontic treatment include a healthier mouth, a more pleasing appearance, and teeth that are more likely to last a lifetime. How does Invisalign work?Invisalign uses a series of removable plastic trays.
These trays are made using advanced 3D technology. Dr. Cook will make the trays series to gradually shift your teeth. Each set of trays is worn for about two weeks. Average total treatment is 9-18 months.Am I a candidate for Invisalign?
The system is a revolutionary treatment. Unfortunately, it has limits and can’t fix certain problems. Invisalign has improved since it first came out, and is now able to treat more complex movements that initially! To see if you are a candidate, schedule a complimentary consultation today. Adults can also refer to the online Self-Assessment Tool.

    What is the treatment process?

The first step is a consultation with your orthodontist. During the consultation, you and your doctor will determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign. Once you are chosen as a patient, your doctor will plan your treatment. Your doctor will take x-rays, pictures, and impressions of your teeth. These models will be used to make a 3D image of your teeth and jaw. Based on your model and treatment plan, a series of custom trays will be created. Your trays will change every two weeks, with checkups every six weeks.

    How long does treatment take?

Every smile is different, but the average treatment time for adults is one year. The average number of trays worn is 18-30. With no metal or wires, you spend less time in your doctor’s office. For best results, trays should be worn 20-22 hour every day.

    How do Invisalign trays feel?

The trays are made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic. You can remove the trays to eat, drink, brush, and floss. You can keep eating all of the foods you love without any restrictions. For those who love sports, Invisalign trays work without sharp brackets cutting your mouth. If you need to wear a mouth guard, simply remove your trays and pop them back in when you’re done! Invisalign also doesn’t get in the way of music instruments.

    Do Invisalign trays get dirty?

The trays are easy to clean. Simply brush and rinse them in lukewarm water, or use the easy Invisalign cleaning kit.
